Twee kolonisten gedood in wraakactie

Elon More, Itamar; gebied met veel extremisten

Maan News: Two Israeli settlers were shot and killed in a drive-by shooting between the illegal Israeli settlements of Itamar and Elon Moreh near Nablus in the northern West Bank on Thursday evening, an Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an. Maan legt in de eerste plaats een verband met de Israëlische acties in en rond de Al-Aqsa moskee: Tensions between Israeli settlers and Palestinians have been running high in recent weeks, as right-wing groups have increasingly urged their supporters to visit the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem, which has sparked clashes and spurred political debates around what Palestinians see as a challenge to the status quo in Israeli policies concerning the holy site. Maan noemt iets dat ontbreekt in Israëlische media: Palestinians have been responsible for the deaths of four Israelis within the occupied Palestinian territories this year, according to OCHA documentation, while at least 24 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank.

It’s a difficult day for the State of Israel. Our hearts are with the children and their family.” Politieker was een opmerking over “opruiing”, waarmee hij zoals vaker de laatste tijd, de Palestijnse Autoriteit (PA) als de schuldige aanwees: “(…) and it was once again proven that the wild Palestinian incitement leads to terrorist acts such as the one we’ve seen tonight.”

Israel National News: However, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in his Thursday UN speech rebuttal to Abbas’s abandonment of the 1994 Oslo Accords repeatedly stated he hopes Abbas will return to direct negotiations on a peace deal, indicating that such a paradigm shift might not be forthcoming.

Israël stelt PA/Abbas verantwoordelijk

Intussen overweegt Israëlische regering extreme “wilde” nederzettingen te legaliseren

Diverse Israëlische ministers leggen een direct verband met de speech van de Palestijnse leider Abbas in New York en de schietpartij gisteren in de Westoever (IsrNatNews): Israeli ministers lost no time in condemning the Arab terror attack just outside of Itamar in Samaria on Thursday night, connecting it with Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s UN speech the day before in which he announced the PA is abandoning the Oslo Accords. Minister Hotolevy: “Abbas is inciting and the on the ground they are incited, and this is how the murderous mechanism that motivates murderous terror attacks in Judea and Samaria works.”

Minister Uri Ariel pleit voor formele annexatie van 60% van de Westoever: “The responsibility is his (Abbas, JS), and his alone, and he must give an accounting for it. The response to the awful murder must be the annexation of Area C, an expansion of the settlement in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria,” Minister Regev komt dicht bij persoonlijke bedreiging van Abbas: “24 hours after the violent speech of the arch-murderer Abbas, a husband and wife were murdered in Israel. In his every word Abbas encourages the murder of Jews and permits their blood.” The order of battle of Abbas was implemented this evening in Israel, and it is red with blood. A people whose leaders encourage murder will never have a state, and that must be said clearly.” Uit de Knesseth kwamen soortgelijke extreme uitingen.

Veel aandacht in Israëlische media

De New Yorkse Democraat Dov Hikind wordt aangehaald: that Israel is dealing with animals. Who’s to blame for this? None other than the leader of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, who incites the Palestinians on a regular basis.” Attacking Abbas, the Jewish assemblyman noted that, “in spite of the fact that he wears a tie, he is no different than Yasser Arafat and the other murderers and the other terrorists. He is the same. Our enemies have one goal, and that is to murder Jews.”

Haaretz citeert bronnen die wijzen op “erkenning” vanuit Fatah (de belangrijkste partij binnen de PA) van de verantwoordelijkheid voor de aanslag: The Al-Aqsa Brigades, Fatah’s military arm, said it welcomes the attack, “which constitutes a worthy response to the crimes of the occupation and the murder of the Dawabsheh family (die levend werd verbrand door joodse extremisten, JS).”

Leger begint vandaag grote operatie in de regio

Jerusalem Post: The IDF ordered four battalions to join existing forces in the West Bank after the terrorist attack, following a security evaluation by the General Staff on Thursday night. The first of the extra units will begin arriving on Friday to assist in searches for the terrorists and ensure IDF control of the area, and prevent a deterioration of the security situation.

Dit zijn tot nu toe ongebruikelijke geluiden uit de directe omgeving van Abbas: An adviser to President Mahmoud Abbas said Wednesday that while agreements with Israel had not been cancelled (bedoeld zijn kennelijk delen van de Oslo Akkoorden, waarschijnlijk betrekking hebbend op de veiligheidssamenwerking; JS), the Palestinian Authority “won’t comply” with previous accords, saying that “we won’t work as employees for Israel.”
