Tegenstelling tussen vluchtelingen en Europese joden gecreëerd: “Jew-hatred was learned and promoted”

Leiders zijn nooit vrienden; deze twee heren moeten dat ook laten zien
De Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung van vanmorgen wijdt veel aandacht aan de snel gegroeide Russische betrokkenheid in Syrië. Obama en Poetin waren het gisteren in New York volgens zuinige verklaringen eens over het uitgangspunt dat Syrië één soeverein land moet blijven en een seculiere staat (nb: Dat waren ook uitgangspunten gedurende veertig jaar Assad dictatuur). De VS noemen nu de Russische militaire aanwezigheid “niet per sé schadelijk”. Er zijn afspraken gemaakt over het uitwisselen van operatieve informatie (simpel gezegd: niet elkaars vliegtuigen uit de lucht schieten). Een zekere coördinatie bij de strijd tegen ISIS wordt niet uitgesloten. De VS willen Assad meteen weg, Rusland niet. Mogelijk gaan beide landen min of meer samenwerken, waarbij de Overeenkomst van Genève van 2012 uitgangspunt zou kunnen vormen. Volgens die overeenkomst zou Assad na een overgangsfase aftreden.
In het huidige “spel om invloedssferen” staan (met nuances) achter de VS: Israël, Saoedie-Arabië en de Golfstaten, Jordanië. Iran, Assad, Hezbollah en Irak steunen (in meerdere of mindere mate) de Russische positie. Turkije neemt een eigen positie in en de staat Libanon is neutraal. Op de nuances in de positie van Israël wordt hieronder nader ingegaan.
“Framing” van vluchtelingen begint
Vluchtelingen: “opgegroeid als antisemieten”. Er zijn zelfs Palestijnen onder …
De enorme stroom vluchtelingen vanuit het Midden-Oosten naar Europa en vooral Duitsland geeft inmiddels aanleiding tot “framing”. In dit geval tot het leggen van een verband tussen deze vluchtelingen en hun verondersteld antisemitisme en hun anti-Israël houding. Oskar Deutsch van de Oostenrijkse joodse gemeenschap in de Kurier: “The hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria or Afghanistan who are coming to Europe were exposed while growing up to decades of anti-Semitism. Jew-hatred was learned and promoted in schools, newspapers and social networks. Terrorism against Israeli was celebrated – such as Islamic attacks on Jewish schools, synagogues and Jewish museums in the West.” Ook de columnist Christian Ortner speelt in op de Oostenrijkse afkeer van vreemdelingen, die zich al decennialang richt op moslims: “(…) refugees are streaming into the heart of Europe with a highly likely hefty dose of anti-Semitism, hatred of gays and misogyny.”
Ook een “hoge Israëlische diplomaat” wordt door de Jerusalem Post aangehaald: “(…) that the medical care provided to Syrians in northern Israel might help to decontaminate the “poisonous” anti-Israel climate conditioned by the regimes of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and his father.” Nb: Met de medische hulp wordt gedoeld op de verzorging door Israël van strijders van het aan Al-Qaida gelieerde Al-Nusra Front in Zuid-Syrië. Duitsland wordt ook gewaarschuwd voor Palestijnen die zich tussen de vluchtelingen begeven: “Germany will likely absorb a number of Palestinians as part of its relaxed immigration policies.” In de Washington Post schrijft “een tolk van Lybische oorsprong”: “I’ve met Palestinians who live in camps in Lebanon and now claim they were from Yarmouk camp in Syria. Many of them said they have family in Germany and just use this situation to finally get asylum.”
“Moslim immigratie” en Europese joden
JPost gaat in een analyse verder in op de vluchtelingen kwestie, aan de hand van wat voor de krant de hamvraag is: “Yet nobody seems to be asking the question: Is this good for the Jews? The answer is a resounding “no.”” Dit, tegen de achtergrond van de intense golf van antisemitisme waar de Europese joodse gemeenschap momenteel onder gebukt zou gaan: “European Jewry is currently enduring the most intense wave of anti-Semitism to sweep the continent since World War II, and the cold, hard truth is that Muslim immigrants and their poorly-assimilated offspring are fueling it.” Een deel van die gemeenschap ziet dit nog onvoldoende: “It is tragic, then, that Jewish leaders in Europe are not raising the alarm. To the contrary, many are advocating on behalf of those who are liable to hurt their communities.” Europese joden die opkomen voor de vluchtelingen worden vanuit Israël gemaand: “The remaining question is whether Jewish leaders will take ownership now (van het antisemitische gevaar door de vluchtelingen), or feign surprise and outrage the next time a European Jew is severely beaten – or worse – by someone they advocated on behalf of.”

Poetin: Zorgen over Israëlische aanvallen op Zuid-Syrië
President Poetin heeft bezorgdheid geuit over de geregelde aanvallen door de Israëlische luchtmacht boven Zuid-Syrië.

“Understanding” tussen Israël en Rusland inzake Syrië
Ynetnews analyseert dat er een zekere overeenstemming is tussen Rusland en Israël over de invloessfeer in Zuid-Syrië: “Putin also made this clear when he said – and this is a far-reaching statement – that Israel had legitimate interests in Syria. It means that Putin sees us as a legitimate partner for determining the future of the region, which Russia aspires to lead. Russia sees us as a partner even though Putin quickly condemned Israel’s airstrikes in Syria. That condemnation was meant to send the message: You Israelis are partners, but there are rules to this game, and you’ll have to respect them.
It’s likely that as a result, and as a result of the agreement between Putin and Netanyahu, Israel will try to avoid future airstrikes against Assad’s weapon convoys to Hezbollah. After all, Russia is the one giving Assad those weapons, and it has a clear interest in drawing Israel, a local power, to its side, distancing it from the Americans.

Israël claimt medezeggenschap over Zuid-Syrië
De Israëlische minister Steinitz wijst in verband met het bovenstaande op datgene waarop Israël zich zal concentreren, namelijk de as Iran-Hezbollah: “Israel is concerned with the build-up of Iranian forces in Syria, near the border with Israel (…) Nobody wants to see Russian forces in the area of the Golan Heights, but we definitely don’t want to see Iranian forces near Israel (…) In all of our discussions, first and foremost with the United States, but also with Russia and the rest of the world powers, we must make sure that the Iranian forces will stay in Iran.”
Paleiscoup in Saoedie-Arabië?
Haaretz heeft aanwijzingen voor een, op zich spectaculaire, paleiscoup die gaande zou zijn binnen de heersende Saoedische elite: “Saudi Arabian Prince Makes Unprecedented Call for Removal of King in Palace Coup. King Salman (nog geen jaar koning, JS) has presided over a serious of disasters during his short reign, including a drop in the price of oil, the war in Yemen and the recent deaths of over 800 pilgrims.” Nb: Israël heeft zijn hoop gevestigd op het stabiele Saoedie-Arabië als belangrijke bondgenoot onder de Arabische landen.
