Brandstichting vermoed in gebouw B’tselem
B’tselem vanavond: klimaat ook voor joodse kritische organisaties steeds guurder
Vanavond brak brand uit in een gebouw waarin de kritische Israëlische organisatie B’tselem zijn kantoor heeft. Alle grote Israëlische kranten brengen op hun internetsites het nieuws. De Jeruzalemse brandweer gaat uit van opzet. De brandhaard bevindt zich op de derde verdieping, waar B’tselem kantoor houdt: ‘Jerusalem’s Fire Department said there is suspicion of arson. The source of the fire appears to be on the third floor where the synagogue is located, while the B’Tselem offices are on the first foor.’

Opvallende desinvestering in Israël door Iers bedrijf na boycot
De Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign meldt op zijn site dat de grootste Ierse multinational CHR, heeft bevestigd dat het 25% belang in de Israëlische cementmarkt wordt afgebouwd. Het gaat om een belang in de Mashav-groep. Mashav is de moedermaatschappij van Nesher, die de gehele Israëlische cementmarkt beheerst. Tegen de samenwerking tussen CHR en Mashav werd al tien jaar actie gevoerd: ‘(…) due to role its Israeli subsidiary Nesher Cement plays in supplying materials for the building of Israel’s illegal separation wall, checkpoints and settlements.’
Directeur Maan News gearresteerd door PA-veiligheidsdienst
Arrestatie Salim Sweidan: deel PA-veiligheidsdienst steeds meer verlengstuk van Israël.
Een directielid van het Palestijnse Maan News Network is vandaag door de Palestijnse veiligheidsdienst gearresteerd. De man, Salim Sweidan had bericht over de hulp die de met Israël samenwerkende dienst verleende bij het arresteren van Palestijnen die door Israël worden beschuldigd van geweld: ‘Sweidan was reportedly detained due to a report published on the website of Nablus TV, which Sweidan runs in the northern West Bank. The report accused the PA’s preventive security service in Nablus of helping Israel detain locals from the village of Beit Furik who allegedly shot dead an Israeli settler and his wife on Oct. 1, 2015.’ Maan News is een gematigd Palestijns nieuwsmedium dat door Jaffadok geregeld wordt aangehaald. Maan News heeft krachtig geprotesteerd: ‘Ma’an Network’s board of directors have strongly denounced Sweidan’s detention, saying that “preventive security should have denied the report if it was not true, rather than treat journalists this way.’
